We’ve been lucky enough to work with Luis Choquehuanca for the past seven years, and every time we taste his coffee, it feels like coming home. Luis is part of the Sol de la Mañana program in Bolivia—a quality-focused initiative helping producers level up through training, support, and sheer dedication. Since we first met, Luis has expanded his farm sevenfold and just finished building a new house on the land for his family. This coffee represents more than just great flavour—it’s a snapshot of hard work paying off.
Luis’s farm is nestled deep in the hills outside Caranavi, down winding roads that lead to some of the most beautiful (and remote) coffee-growing terrain we've ever seen. He grows a mix of Caturra and Catuai varieties, and this lot was processed with 48 hours of carbonic maceration before being fully washed. The result is super sweet, full of chocolate and caramel richness with a smooth, syrupy finish—basically everything we love about Bolivian coffee.
We always look forward to visiting Luis, sharing coffee, chatting about life in Canada (he's still baffled by how cold it is here), and getting the latest WWE updates from his sons (yes, both named after wrestlers). It’s relationships like this that remind us why we do what we do. We’re so proud to share his coffee with you once again!
